Enhance Your Feminine Curves

Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure that enhances the size and shape of the breasts. It involves placing breast implants under the breast tissue or chest muscles to increase fullness and projection. Women who are unhappy with the size or shape of their breasts, or those who have lost breast volume due to weight loss or pregnancy, can benefit from this procedure. Breast augmentation can deliver natural-looking results that enhance your feminine curves and boost your confidence.

Breast Augmentation Corrects:

  • Small or underdeveloped breasts that can make some women feel self-conscious
  • Asymmetrical breasts, where one breast is noticeably smaller than the other
  • Loss of breast volume due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss
  • Changes in breast size or shape due to aging, hormonal changes, or genetic factors
  • A lack of cleavage or projection, which can make it difficult to wear certain clothing styles
  • A desire for more proportionate, balanced body contours

Your Breast Implant Options

Saline Implants
Saline implants are made of a silicone shell filled with a sterile saltwater solution. They are available in different sizes and shapes and can be adjusted to achieve the desired fullness. They tend to be less natural-feeling than silicone and may ripple or wrinkle if the saline solution leaks, so they’re not a popular option for implants.

Silicone Implants
Silicone implants are also made of a silicone shell but are filled with a cohesive silicone gel. They come in different sizes, shapes, and textures, providing a more natural look and feel than saline implants. They are less likely to ripple or wrinkle, but since potential leaks can’t be detected, women with silicone implants must undergo regular MRIs.

Benefits of Breast Augmentation:

  • Increased breast size and fullness, creating a more feminine and curvaceous silhouette
  • Improved breast symmetry and shape, resulting in a more balanced appearance
  • Enhanced self-image and self-confidence
  • More clothing options and styles to choose from
  • Long-lasting results, with the results last for years to come
  • Safe and effective procedure with a high success rate

What Happens During Breast Augmentation Surgery?

When you decide to undergo breast augmentation, the first step is to schedule a consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon. During this consultation, you will discuss your goals, medical history, and concerns. Dr. Cohen will examine your breasts and help you choose the right type and size of implant for your body.

On the day of surgery, you will be given anesthesia, which may be general or local with sedation. Dr. Cohen will make an incision in several locations, such as in the crease under the breast, around the areola, or in the armpit. He will create a pocket either behind the breast tissue and above the pectoral muscle (subglandular) or beneath the breast tissue and pectoral muscle (submuscular) to place the implant.

Once the implant is in place, Dr. Cohen will adjust it to achieve the desired shape and symmetry and close the incisions with sutures. The procedure takes one to two hours to complete, depending on the complexity of the case. After the surgery, you will be monitored closely as you recover from the effects of anesthesia.

Breast Augmentation Aftercare Guidelines:

  • Follow your surgeon’s instructions carefully and ask any questions you may have
  • Take any prescribed pain medication as directed to manage discomfort
  • Wear a supportive surgical bra for several weeks to support your new breasts
  • Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activities for at least 4-6 weeks
  • Do not submerge your incisions in water until they are fully healed
  • Keep your incisions clean and dry, and avoid applying any lotions or creams
  • Attend all follow-up appointments as scheduled to monitor your progress
  • Be patient and gentle with your new breasts as they settle into their final position
  • Notify your surgeon if you experience any signs of infection or complications

When Will I See the Final Results?

While you will notice an immediate change in the size and shape of your breasts after surgery, it may take several weeks or months for your implants to settle into their final position and for any swelling to subside. In most cases, patients see the final results of breast augmentation within six months to a year after surgery.
